L I N K O !
The LINKO board is six rows of twelve squares each. Each square is randomly assigned one of six different colors. Shown above the board are six types of gray tiles that can be placed on the board. Each tile has a magenta line drawn on it from one side of the tile to one of the other three sides.
The object of the game is to place tiles on the board such that eventually the left magenta edge of the board is connected to the right magenta edge by a continuous magenta line.
There are two dice whose six sides have different colors. The dice are rolled, and the two colors that are shown are the colors of two board squares where two tiles are to be placed (in either order). Then the dice are rolled again, two more tiles are placed, and so on.
To place a tile, click on one of the available tile types above the board, then click on any board square whose color matches one of the dice.
Any type of tile may be placed on any appropriately colored square (they don’t have to form part of a winning path). But if there is already a tile on a neighboring square (to the north, south, east, or west), the tiles’ lines must match up.
There are three levels of play. In each level there is a limited number of tiles that have a single straight line (running either straight east-west or straight north-south). In all levels there is an unlimited number of other tiles.
The game is lost when no legal play is possible. (If you start a new game after placing at least one tile in the present game, but before the present game has ended, then you will be charged with a loss.)
